Koholint Island hides many secrets, and we can use most of them to destroy our enemies. As usual in the games of the saga, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening gets bigger and more interesting as we expand our arsenal. And the truth is that on this island there is a lot of everything.

Of course, first -when we wake up- the only thing we will have when starting our adventure will be our clothes, a hat and a slight dizziness. Given our shipwrecked condition, it could be a stroke of luck, of course. But we'll need a lot more to get off the island.

In Extra LifeThe 41 best tricks, secrets and curiosities of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

In Link's Awakening we will get hold of a small arsenal scattered around the island little by little. And, as a preview, here are the weapons, the artifacts, the songs you can play and, of course, where to find them.

Hyrule's Shield

Blocks attacks and repels enemies. In addition, we will be able to walk freely when using it. We get it at Marin and Tarin's house at the beginning of the adventure in Mabe Village. All you have to do is talk to Tarin to get it back. You won't need to equip it.

The hero's sword

The hero's classic weapon. Punishes enemies for melee damage. If we hold down the sword button, we will also make an attack with spin. He awaits us on the Torombo Litoral beach. You will not need to equip it.

Koholint's sword

A sword that deals greater damage, can destroy vessels and if our health is at maximum it launches projectiles. We will receive it as a prize by exchanging 40 shells in the shell house. When obtained, it replaces the hero's sword.

The shovel

It is not necessary to finish the adventure, but it is very redeemable. A tool that allows us to dig and find buried rupees, hearts and shells. We can buy it for 200 rupees at the utensil shop in Mabe Village. It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

Magic dust

Damages ethereal enemies, confuses normal enemies, restores magical effects, and lights campfires and torches.

First obtained by bringing a Mushroom from the Mysterious Forest to the Witch. They can also be bought in the Village and can be found by breaking pots. It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

The bow and arrows

The bow consumes arrows -which we can find in pots and among the grass- but, in return, we will do great damage from a distance. We can buy it for 980 rupees at the Mabe Village utensils shop. It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

Roc's Feather

It allows us to jump over enemies, avoid holes and traps and reach items that float in the air. You will find it in a chest in the Tail Cave (Dungeon 1). It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

TheBombs

They allow us to generate explosions and damage from a distance and discover secret caves in the cracked walls. They can be grabbed to slow the explosion and even thrown.

You'll find them in pots and for sale at the Aldea Mabe tool shop and the hook game. It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

The Bracelet of Strength

Allows you to lift rocks and objects the size of Link. You will find it in a chest in the Pitcher Grotto (Dungeon 2). You will not need to equip it.

The Super Strength Bracelet.

Allows you to lift the heaviest objects and drag very large statues. It is found in a chest in the Temple of the Face (Dungeon 6). Upon obtaining it, it replaces the force bracelet.

The Pegasus Boots

In addition to allowing us to traverse obstacles, the Pegasus Boots can be used for sprinting, gaining momentum before jumping far, and performing sword thrusts. You will find them in a chest in the Key cavern (Dungeon 3). You will not need to equip them.

The Shell Detector

This detector signals the proximity of a hidden shell with an icon on the screen and vibration. Also, it can be turned on and off from the inventory menu. It is a reward in the shell house when you get 15 shells. You will not need to equip it.

The Ocarina

A musical instrument that will allow us to interpret up to three songs with different effects:

We'll find it in a chest in the Dreaming Sanctuary, north of Mabe Village. We will need the Bracelet of Strength and the Pegasus Boots to reach her. It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

The Magnifying Glass

The magnifying glass will show us things that were previously invisible like enemies, new characters and neighbors of mabe and the Animal Village. It even translates indecipherable texts from the library.

We can find it after a succession of exchanges once we have the mermaid's scale when going down the stairs that is hidden under the statue of the Mermaid that is in Martha's Bay. You will not need to equip it.

Fins

They allow us to swim and dive in areas completely covered by water. You can find them in a chest in the Abyssal Tunnel (Dungeon 4). You will not need to equip them.

The hook

An extensible hook that sticks to heavy objects so that we can move towards them. It will be the reward after defeating the skeleton three times in the Catfish Maw (Dungeon 5). It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

The Mirror Shield

A shield capable of repelling heat and reflecting projectile lightning needed to access Turtle Rock. You will find it in a chest in the Eagle Tower (Dungeon 7). It replaces the shield of Hyrule.

The Boomerang

A projectile that can be thrown in any direction and returns to Link. It is obtained by exchanging it for another object (the shovel, the bow) in a hidden cave on the Torombo Coastline after obtaining the Magnifying Glass. It is equipped on the X or Y buttons.

The Magic Staff

A staff that shoots balls of blue fire, perfect for melting blocks of ice and attacking enemies from a distance. You will find him in a chest in Turtle Rock (Dungeon 8) He equips on the X or Y button.

Fairy Jars

Three empty bottles that will allow us to save fairies and restore our health when freeing them. They are obtained as prizes in the fishing mini-game, the Dampé challenges and the shell house. They are equipped on the X or Y buttons.

Where to get secret ointment

In Link's Awakening there is an interesting way to avoid falling struck down: a secret ointment that we are interested in always carrying in inventory.

The operation of this is very simple: when we exhaust our hearts of health, it will automatically lift us up, giving us a second chance. Now, where to get it?
