The rear wing generates 1,800 kg of downforce at 320 km/h, a figure that Bugatti admits is "extreme" and that allows it to place itself in an important position in the list of cars with the most downforce (among the manufacturers that offer this data, of course).
"The Bolide was a completely different challenge for our design team, and a kind of thought experiment where we stripped the car of its four-turbocharged W16 heart and rebuilt it with the bare minimum to create the most extreme Bugatti," says the director. of Bugatti design, Achim Anscheidt.
Furthermore, he added: “The key for us was to respect the technical requirements of the Bolide, focusing first on function and then developing form.
We are honored that the resulting design has won such a coveted award, voted for by experts in our industry. Praise must go to the entire design team, each dedicated to their work and focused on harmonizing and perfecting all aspects of the Bolide's design during a purely digital four-month process."
