Discover 5 eco-responsible Italian brands

Italy, the leading country in fashion production in Europe, has managed to combine craftsmanship and industry to serve the most sophisticated and demanding consumers. Sustainable development, as explained by Carlo Capasa, president of the CNMI (Italian National Chamber of Fashion) these days during the G7 "Fashion Pact", has become the meeting point for most Italian brands and the production chain to establish guidelines and trigger a virtuous circle. He discovers five young Italian eco-fashion brands that use natural, recycled and certified materials, offering multiple (new) opportunities to responsible consumers.

Re-beautiful

This northern Italian brand was created in 2012. Initially, it produced eco-friendly t-shirts with alternative organic fabrics such as bamboo, eucalyptus, beech, recycled wool or organic cotton. Three years later, the brand signed an important collaboration with the Croatian designer, Ivana Omazic, artistic director of different luxury houses such as Miu Miu, Céline, Prada, Jil Sander or Margiela. Re-Bello produces its line of eco-sustainable clothing mainly in Italy, but also in Turkey and Greece.

First sustainable fashion brand to offer complete clothing traceability thanks to an innovative idea: from the product code printed on the labels, consumers can trace their origin through a search available on the brand's website.

Re-Bello clothing for men and women is completely ecological. The brand is mainly suitable for young people between 20 and 35 years old, but other age groups like the fineness of the fabrics used especially for t-shirts or other garments in direct contact with the skin.

Par.Co Denim

Descubre 5 marcas italianas eco-responsables

This family business from Bergamo has been producing quality jeans with a sophisticated design for three generations. It focuses on washing jeans with environmentally friendly techniques. The proposed pieces for men and women are durable and do not use animal components.

The washing is carried out in specialized laundries that replace traditional sanding with sustainable techniques, thanks to the use of ice, natural resins and ecological aging (a particularly ecological technique for whitening jeans). Par.co Denim manufactures its ecological and vegan jeans exclusively in Italy and uses natural and innovative organic fibers. In recent years, the brand has made changes to its production chain, significantly reducing the impact on the environment.

This young fashion brand uses organic cotton and hemp fiber.

Quagga

Quagga was founded in 2010 with the goal of creating eco-friendly and vegan jackets with technical performance superior to the competition. These jackets are designed from industrial waste, placing respect for the environment, humans and animals at the heart of their production chain. Quagga makes its vegan and eco-sustainable clothing line exclusively in Italy.

The brand offers jackets that are particularly suitable for people who live in very cold cities. The brand uses 100% recycled materials, such as Newlife fiber and no animal components, including the padding of the jackets. Accessories such as buttons and zippers come from recycled and certified materials.

gin house

G for "Genuine" (true, in French) - I for innovative and N for natural. Casa Gin conveys natural well-being by creating underwear for men and women with skin-friendly fabrics. This eco-friendly and vegan underwear is made with innovative and durable natural materials. Casa Gin produces its own range of natural and vegan underwear exclusively in Italy.

The collections of this brand offer great benefits in terms of comfort and hygiene, guaranteed by fabrics of natural origin that help combat dermatological problems, allergies and excessive sweating.

For more technical fitness clothing, the firm uses Tencel Modal fiber and Tencel Lyocell.

Malia Lab

One hundred percent Italian manufacturing, where attention to detail and product quality are on the priority list. Malìa Lab works in an ecological way and with the use of eco-durable fabrics. All products are hand-sewn and the design is characterized by an innovative and refined style.

Malìa Lab produces its line of organic clothing for women from 30 to 50 years old exclusively in Italy. A range of ecological fabrics such as organic cotton, hemp, linen, burette silk, milk fiber or organic wool are part of their collections.
