Zendaya is ready to close the year with a look that we will not forget. She also continues to teach fashion classes and simultaneously make style statements. This was the case during her participation in the 2021 Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris, while wearing a black Roberto Cavalli dress.
He did it first in October of this year by evoking a medieval look during the London Film Festival. So, the American actress, Zendaya, donned an outfit from Vivienne Westwood's spring-summer 2020 collection, a checkered print skirt that was worn with a top full of chains. On this occasion, she was inspired by the character she played in the film in which she stars with Tom Holland, wearing an open back design.
The meaning of Zendaya's dress with jewelry spine
Although the film directed by Jon Watts will be released on December 17, promotional work began in the French capital for the also singer and dancer with one of her best looks on the red carpet. To flatter her figure, she chose an open back dress, one that was part of Roberto Cavalli's fall-winter 2000-2001 collection. By way of personal request, the garment was updated by Fausto Puglisi, the current creative director of the luxury brand.
Ten years ago, the Italian fashion designer's show began with a projection of the planets. A tour of the universe and a light that turned on intermittently for a few seconds. It was a kind of semicircle in the center of the stage where the models began their journey. Some elements are different in the dress that Zendaya wore, but it is a fact that the piece of gold spiral jewelry that adorned her back, is there to shine with its timeless halo.
The three-quarter sleeve design kept it close to the body. The neckline on the back is decorated with a golden piece that simulates a spine, ornamented at the top with two snake heads, which are embedded with gemstones. In order not to detract from the stunning gown, she kept accessories to a minimum, with large gold hoop earrings and classic black stilettos.
The actress and style icon shows us that the simplicity of a pair of baggy jeans goes perfectly with a blunt white blouse.

On social networks, some of the fans of the superhero movie interpreted this design in gold as a similarity to the fictional character, Doctor Octopus, recognized for his metallic octopus tentacles and being the nemesis of Spider-Man. Zendaya took up a post and reposted it to her Instagram stories. He wrote: 'we love references'. In the same way, it is true that there are several designers who have liked to experiment with the theme of the human body in their creations, as has happened in the past with creations by Schiaparelli and Iris Van Herpen.
