The City Council of Toledo will have an "important" budgetary endowment next year 2022 to improve the road that connects the Santa Barbara neighborhood and the polygon -which crosses the A -42 through a bridge and reaches the polygon through the commercial parkFusion- in order to guarantee the connection with the new hospital complex in case of accident in the TO-23.

This has been announced by the mayor, Milagros Tolón, during the visit he has made together with the Government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Lierosec, to the works that are being carried out in the TO-23 to prevent situationsLike those that were lived with the floods recorded last September.

The mayor has indicated that it will be "a priority access for sanitary or emergency vehicles in case of accident".This is a project for which they are already maintaining contact with the technicians of the road demarcation and with which they intend to offer "security" to access the new hospital in this way.

He has not specified the amount of this specific project but has indicated Tolón that is part of an investment of "3.5 and 4 million euros", of which part will be used to rehabilitate this road that is already built."I imagine that next year the works will begin," he stressed while recalling that it is a section of municipal ownership so the cost of the works will be assumed by the Consistory.

Third lane

Likewise, Tolón has indicated that the TO-23 will have a third lane in the direction and the possibility of another reversible to improve the circulation thanks to the project that the Ministry of Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda is preparing.

In this sense, Francisco Javier González Cabezas, head of the State Roads Demarcation in Castilla-La Mancha, also present in the appearance, has specified that it is a project that they are currently writing and that it is "very advanced".

Drainage works on TO-23 until March

On the other hand, on the works of improvement and expansion of the drainage of the TO-23 (former N-400) that are carried out between the 0.500 and 2,080 kilometric points of the aforementioned via Tolón, it has indicated that it is an important performance "oflongitudinal and transversal drainage in this area to improve security and not happen again ".

As explained by González Cabezas, the works include the transverse drainage of the road with the installation of reinforced concrete frames at various points as well as the longitudinal drain that involves the demolition of existing concrete gutters and the installation of others with greater capacity.
