In a tour carried out by El Sol de México, it was observed that the work on the cycle path has not yet begun, since there are no signs and even tenants on 5 de Mayo street are unaware of the project ; however, the Sobse reports an advance of 49.65%.

“They haven't told us anything, we don't even know when the bike path is going to be installed, we only know it from the signs that are on the street, but with this we expect a 30% increase in our sales”, indicated Lorena Martínez Bazán, manager of a jewelry store located at number 54 of 5 de Mayo street.

Tenants and business owners installed on said street welcome the opening of the ciclovia, since the area is continuously closed off by protesters and even to carry out commercials for television, which reduces the sales of nearby businesses, as it makes it difficult for potential customers to enter.

According to Roberto Pelayo, owner of a tennis sales business at number 29, as well as Julio Lara, owner of a clothing brand, assured that sales could increase up to 50% with the bike path, since the entrance to the area will be more accessible for customers.

The new bike path that will be installed in the heart of the Historical Center will connect the Plaza de la Constitución cycling circuit and the trolley bike lane of Eje Central< /b>, which will benefit businesses that currently have sales at 70% compared to 2019, before the pandemic.
