With hardly any noise or promotion by RTVE, the corporation launched RTVE Play a few months ago, a free streaming platform with an increasingly complete offer. There you can see movies, series and documentaries.

And not only the productions that have been broadcast in recent decades on La 1 and La 2, but also international fictions that have not reached the grids but can now be seen for free on RTVE Play.

international series

Among the next titles that will arrive on the streaming platform are House of Cards (1990), a British miniseries that narrates what happened after the fall of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; Les Miserables, starring Dominic West and Lily Collins, and The Collapse, a French eight-episode miniseries recorded in sequence to enhance the drama experienced in Paris.

Another of the miniseries is Informer, with Paddy Considine, where they talk about jihadist terrorism, and also comes The Split, a fiction about a family of lawyers specializing in divorce cases focused on women who fight for their happiness.

Hippocrates arrives from France, which Filmin premiered months ago, a series that tells the story of four young residents who have to take charge of a hospital when a quarantine leaves the center without staff.

And for months other internationally successful series such as Years and Years, Sherlock, Poldark, Harlots, Baron Noir, The Durrells and Happy Valley, among other titles, have been available.

numerous documentaries

Carlos Maldonado, winner of the third edition of MasterChef, is the protagonist of Roots, a documentary series that reviews his career. It is directed by Hernán Zin, who throughout its two episodes shows his evolution as a chef and as a person and is one of the platform's original production bets.

On January 19, Thunder: Dare to Dream will be available, focusing on the successful tour of Spain by rapper Mateo Palacios. Matangi/Maya/MIA focuses, for its part, on the story of overcoming the singer who arrived in London as a refugee. And Amazing Grace puts the spotlight on Aretha Franklin's legendary gospel album of the same name.

On the streaming platform you can also see Grandpa Víctor (documentary about the singer Víctor Manuel), Lucía en la spider web, Cantábrico, El niño de fuego, Ruiz-Mateos, the first viral phenomenon; Edelweiss and Susana and sex, among others.

Playz, aimed at young people

And one of the main bets of the public channel is to capture the youngest audience, precisely the one that has been fleeing conventional television for a long time towards other media such as YouTube and social networks and towards on-demand content. Especially for them are the contents under the Playz label, where they can see series like Yrreal, starring Angy Fernández and Veki Velilla, and which mixes real images with animation. There are also others like Drama, Riders, Grease and Merlí.

It also includes innovative formats such as a video-podcast presented by Pere Estupinyá, who talks with a new generation of Spanish scientists who work all over the world, such as Begoña Vila from Galicia.

RTVE Play offers cooking programs with chefs such as Gipsy Chef and Sergio Fernández and entertainment such as the controversial Who is laughing now? And viewers can see on demand the most recent programming of La 1, La 2, Clan and Teledeporte, in addition to recovering classic series and programs that are already part of television history, such as Elprice just and Rings of gold, among others.
