Jewelry, clothing and other belongings of Puerto Rican astrologer and Latin television star Walter Mercado will be auctioned by Bonhams between December 30 and December 9.

Bonhams announces this Friday in its Internet address the celebration of the "Mucho Mucho Amor" auction, which takes its name from the emblematic phrase with which the iconic television figure used to say goodbye, well known among the Latino public in the United States.

The auction, which will take place online, will include more than 135 objects that were owned by Mercado with values ​​between 500 and 60,000 dollars.

The Puerto Rican astrologer had a large collection of rings, pendants and bracelets with precious stones with a value many times more sentimental than monetary that can now be acquired by his followers.

A sample of his legendary capes was displayed at the exhibition organized in August 2019 by the Miami History Museum, inaugurated by himself, who would die a few months later at 87 years of age.

The auction includes a cape, made of white silk adorned with gold beads, sequins and lace details, with an estimated value of between $2,500 and $3,500.

Another cape of the astrologer with orange tones and floral details, valued between 1,500 and 2,500 dollars, will also go on sale.

The list of items includes a three-piece gold and platinum ring worth between $40,000 and $60,000.

For those who don't have such a high budget, another simulated diamond 14-carat gold ring with an estimated value of between $1,000 and $1,500 will also be auctioned.

Mercado, who was also an actor and dancer, changed his professional orientation to become an astrologer when he started presenting the horoscope on the Telemundo network.

His success led him to Univision Miami in the 1990s, where he became a reference in the astrological world until 2010, a task that he would resume in 2015 through his website.

Mercado gained fame for his image and charisma, but also for his great skill in predicting the future, something that, as he recalls, was pointed out to him as a child, when at the age of 6 he was able to visualize the fall of the bell of the school, which seems to have finally happened.

Mercado received numerous distinctions, such as a decoration awarded by the Government of the Dominican Republic and a prize obtained by Venezuela for his performance in the telenovela "La intrusa".
