Rappers have shown off unique implants in recent years, from gold chains to a $24 million diamond implanted in Lil Uzi Vert's forehead.
The new way of displaying the bling has surprised some fans, as artists look to gain notoriety with their first surgical implants.
The artists shared the reasoning behind their decisions to get the jewelry implants, as some rappers decided to ditch their grills.
LIL UZI VERT IMPLANT
The pink diamond that rapper Lil Uzi Vert had implanted in his forehead is one of the most expensive investments reported recently.
The Philadelphia artist, whose real name is Symere Woods, revealed the stone to his followers on social media in February 2021.
A caption to the clip read: "Beauty is pain."
The rapper said the diamond is between 10 and 11 carats and comes from jewelry designer Elliot Eliantte.
Some fans were shocked by a now-deleted tweet that showed Lil Uzi with what appeared to be blood running under the diamond and down his nose.
A caption read: "If I don't take it out the right way, I might die 😂..."
Lil Uzi later posted another clip showing himself without the blood, and with the diamond still on his head.
"Okay, we're good," he wrote.
In response to critical comments on Twitter urging him to "please get it out" and "stop lying... and get it out of your head now," he replied, "THIS IS FASHION."
She later added a bar and chain connecting the jewelry on her face, hip hop magazine XXL reported.
SALSA WALKA'S DIAMOND
Texas rapper Sauce Walka also had a diamond implanted in his face.
He unveiled the $250,000 piece of bling in December 2020, entertainment news site The Shade Room reported.

The video featured an enthusiastic Willow Walka explaining his reasoning behind getting the rose gold teardrop diamond implant.
“I just put all my tears, and all my years and all my pain and fears, in my fucking eye for the last time and I'll never cry again,” Willow said.
Houston jeweler Johnny Dang is said to have sold her the diamond, which Willow Walka said was 3 carats in 18-karat gold.
He claimed his implant inspired Lil Uzi Vert to get one too, but Lil Uzi credited The Pack's Lil B for the inspiration-based God.
DAN SUR'S GOLD CHAINS
Rapper Dan Sur bragged in September 2021 that he was the first known rapper to adorn his hair with surgically implanted gold chains.
The 23-year-old reggaeton artist from Mexico flaunted gold and jeweled locks that replaced his natural brown hair.
He explained that the chains that hung over his face like a glittering lampshade matched his diamond-encrusted grill and cost a penny.
“I have it like a hook that is implanted in my head and that hook has hooks and they are all hooked into my skull, under my skin,” he said in a TikTok video.
Sur said the decision to change her hair to an embellished bowl hairstyle was to create "something different."
“The first rapper to have implanted golden hair in human history,” he said.
DIAMOND GRILL REMOVED
While some rappers spend small fortunes getting jewels implanted in their faces, YFN Lucci shocked some fans by revealing what was underneath his permanent grill.
The Atlanta rapper documented the removal of his diamond dental coverings on Instagram in May 2020.
The video showed a dentist removing the jewelry tooth by tooth, revealing YFN Lucci's real shaved teeth.
Her dentist told HipHopDX that the grills were removed to clean her teeth and polish the diamonds and gold.
Then they were put back in, the dentist said.
Other rappers, including Plies and Lil Yachty, have opted to remove their grills in recent years, Hot New Hip Hop reported.
Yachty told his social media followers that a new set of veneers he now sports costs $80,000.
