Capturing one's own characteristics, individual concepts, histories and unique meanings in jewelry is a growing trend among luxury consumers.

According to León Atelier, a personalized jewelry workshop supported by the Undertaking Fund of the Seine, identity jewelry is on the rise in the country, registering an annual increase of 30% in requests.

This increase in demand occurred mainly in the cities of Bogotá, Medellín, Cali and Barranquilla, which are mostly made by the male market, which represents 80% for the León Atelier jewelry firm.

This new trend of identity jewelry, monopolized mostly by men, is evident in an interest in the use of personalized rings that are made by hand-carved wax modeling or 3d digital tools and casting (lost wax technique), creation of unique molds and customization of the pieces that allows the creation of higher value, robust and personalized jewelry.

Several of the brands today offer different models and themes to their customers. The best-selling jewels, mostly rings, opt for creative allusive designs, for example, to series or anime, others opt for minimalist, religious and alternative styles.
