The drunken Tourist Nation threatened agents of the Encarnación PMT

Rocio Gomez. Incarnation

With the great wave of tourists that fill the beaches and lodgings of Encarnación, many families arrive from Asunción to enjoy the tourism options offered by the Pearl of the South. However, stressful situations cannot be avoided at the time of checks by municipal traffic agents, especially when tourists ingested alcoholic beverages.

This was the case of a 34-year-old man from Asunción, who reacted violently when he was intercepted at a routine checkpoint.

La Nación Turista ebrio amenazó a agentes de la PMT de Encarnación

It all started when the agents requested that he present the documentation of the car, which was in the parking lot of San José beach. When presenting the documents, they verified that it did not correspond to what was required, so they decided to carry out a breathalyzer test.

At that moment, the subject lost control and became enraged, extracting a bat and a thick iron rod from the car. Immediately afterwards, he began to threaten the uniformed men to get away from him and his truck, or they would be "hit." As the personnel did not back down, Pablo Bernal attacked agent Francisco Díaz and continued to threaten the others.

Minutes later the police arrived and they were able to subdue him and transfer him to the third police station in the capital of Itapúa. The prosecutor Angelina Arriola ordered that the apprehended be detained for 6 hours and then released. His truck was driven by traffic personnel to the municipal corral. Moral: if you want to end your vacation well, do not drink alcohol if you are going to drive and you have your documents in order.
