The Court of Alicante condemns Alperi and Ortiz to fines for bribery and acquits Castedo in the PGOU case

There is no evidence that they provided confidential information

In general terms, the Court considers that there is no evidence that the former mayors Díaz Alperi and Castedo provided confidential information on urban planning or that they influenced technicians and officials to benefit Ortiz in exchange for different gifts and gifts.

In the trial for the alleged rigging of the PGOU, in addition to Castedo, Díaz Alperi (her predecessor in the Mayor's Office) and Ortiz, the builder Ramón Salvador, the partners of the Salvetti Abogados law firm, Javier Gutiérrez and José Luis Castedo (brother of the former mayor), and three people linked to Ortiz's companies: his brother, Virgilio Ortiz, Santiago Bernáldez and Pablo Rico.

The events prosecuted date back to the years 2008, 2009 and 2010, a period in which the elaboration of the PGOU of Alicante and its public exhibition culminated.

This is the main separate piece of the so-called 'Brugal case', which, as a result of telephone interventions by the National Police, revealed twenty alleged plots in various towns in the province of Alicante.
